How it Works:
The raw wastewater from the Septic Tank passes through the Anoxic Tank. When deprived of readily available oxygen, as in an anoxic environment, bacteria will use nitrate as an oxygen source to break down carbon, their source of food. During denitrification, the tank is agitated by a mixer but not aerated, thereby starving the bacteria of readily available oxygen. Therefore breaking down Ammonia and converting into Nitrates. Processed water will go to the Equalization Tank to create a homogenous mixture to easily stabilize the influent. This tank also acts to equalize the flow in terms of organic loading. Mixing will be provided by air blower through a diffuser to prevent occurrence of anaerobic condition. Then influent will be pumped into the screen chamber and to the Aeration Tank.
In the Aeration Tank, an organic matter in the wastewater is converted into carbon dioxide, water and new microorganism. Air is supplied into the aeration tank by means of positive displacement blowers. The air serves as a source of oxygen needed by the microorganism in the degradation of organic matter.
From the aeration tank, the liquid is allowed to settle on the Primary Settling Tank. After sometime, the supernatant liquid is eventually discharge into the coagulation chamber for furhter treatment. Portion of the settled sludge will be pumped back to the equalization tank to be utilized for further degradation process. Waste activated sludge is being pumped from the sedimentation into the Aerobic Sludge Digester. Aeration system is also provided in this tank. Overflow is returned to the Anoxic Tank for further treatment.
Supernatant liquid from the Holding Tank enters the Coagulation/Flocculation chamber. A flocculant/coagullant aid is dosed and mixed by a rapid mixer to remove nutrients such as phosphates and other inorganics. Liquid will pass through the Final Settling Tank.
After the chemical precipitation process, effluent pass through this Final Settling Tank to separate the flux that is formed and the clear liquid. The flux will be pumped to the Drying Bed for disposal and effluent will go to the Filtrtation System for effluent polishing and dosed with Chlorine for disinfection.
